The Simpsons Harry Shearer's Emmy Steal

Actor Harry Shearer once stole an Emmy Award - because he refused to be the only member of The Simpsons cast who hadn't taken home a prize.

The star, who provides the voices for Montgomery Burns and Ned Flanders in the cartoon series, is the sole member of the principal cast of six to never have been nominated for the prestigious TV award for his work on the long-running show.

But he is adamant he isn't a loser - because he took home the gong for Best Animation after receiving it on behalf of the show.

He says, "I stole it. It's somewhere in the attic now - the joy was in the stealing, not the having.

"Every year the show wins the award for best animation and the producers invite a cast member to the ceremony. You go up on stage and they hand you the statue. If you're going to get it engraved, you hand it back to them - but I walked out with mine!".

The Simpsons Hit U.S. iTunes Store

It has been over 20 years since The Simpsons first appeared on our TVs, popularizing catch phrases such as “doh!” and “eat my shorts” that at one point had been synonymous with pop culture. It now appears that Homer and the gang are back in a big way as Season 20 (jeez has it really been that long) is now available on iTunes.

Season 20 can be purchased for $37.99, yet is not available in HD and is only accessible to a U.S. audience. The latest chapter of The Simpson’s dynasty began airing September 28 on Fox and included the infamous (m)Apple mockery episode, satirizing the cult-like phenomenon of Apple and Steve Jobs.

Now tied with Gunsmoke for the longest running American sitcom,The Simpsons have showed no signs of letting up. U.S. iTunes users can purchase season 20 here, yet there is no word of when it will be internationally available.

'The Simpsons' Top 20 Episodes

To celebrate 20 seasons on the air, I'm presenting my list of the best 20 episodes of The Simpsons.

Choosing the 20 best episodes of The Simpsons, though, is very difficult since there are far more than 20 that are just wonderful. Some I love because I laugh so hard, and some I love because they touch my heart. I also tried to pick episodes that focused on a variety of characters, though most of them are about Homer Simpson. Finally, ranking my picks from best to worst is pointless, as one episode isn't really any better than the other.

The Simpsons: "The Burns and the Bees" Review

It's Mr. Burns versus Lisa... again.

I haven't been laughing out loud much lately while watching The Simpsons. I still think I enjoy more episodes than I don't enjoy, but it's more of a pleasant enjoyment, not a side-splitting, pause-the-TiVo-because-I-can't-stop-laughing enjoyment. "The Burns and the Bees" was entertaining and pleasant enough, and there were some genuinely funny moments, but overall there wasn't much that stood out.

The episode opened with Mr. Burns flying to Billionaires Camp, where he sported a "Billionaires Rule" T-shirt. I'm a sucker for some Burns tomfoolery, so I was a fan of these portions of the episode. The "campers" were roasting jewels over an open fire and telling ghost stories about the Securities and Exchange Commission.
