"La Bomba" Drops In On Springfield On "The Simpsons" Sunday, January 31, On FOX


Ricardo Bomba (nicknamed "La Bomba"), one of Springfield's newest eligible bachelors and the brainchild of Peggy Black of Orange, CT, will appear in the "Million-Dollar Maybe" episode of The Simpsons airing Sunday, Jan. 31 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

As the winner of The Simpsons Character Contest, Black won the unprecedented opportunity to have her character, Ricardo Bomba, appear in a SIMPSONS episode. Additionally, Chris Martin of Coldplay will make a guest voice appearance in the episode.

Stronger, Higher, Homer? Simpsons Go Curling In Olympics-Themed Episode


Sweeping is a skill. Kilts are in fashion. The target is shaped like a doughnut.

It was just a matter of time before the Simpsons gave curling a try.

The dysfunctional television family will take aim at the roaring game this season when Homer and Marge head to Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics. In an episode due to air around the time of the Winter Games in February, the couple represents the United States in the semi-fictional event of mixed curling.

Stronger.

Higher.

As part of a 40 year jape that sees the 19th Century statue dressed up as different characters every year, tricksters covered the local landmark in the garb of the popular cartoon creation.

For most of the year a rather sombre statue of Lord John Scott stands on the village green in Dunchurch, Warwickshire.

The Simpsons: The Complete Twentieth Season – DVD Review


It seems the producers of The Simpsons DVDs have either gotten really caught up in hullabaloo of their own 20th anniversary of the show, or just plum forgot how to count. Because as every Simpsons fan knows, it’s season 13 that should be coming out on DVD now, not 20.

In fact with their average of one to two seasons released in a year, season 20 shouldn’t be released until at least 2015. And I’m sure when they get to that point 20 will most certainly be re-released and this time it will be chock full of the special feature goodness that Simpsons‘ fans have come to expect from their Simpsons DVDs as apposed to this bare bones release.
