"The Simpsons" are heading to Blu-ray. Fox is bringing the longest running American sitcom in history to the high-definition format, starting with the popular animated series' 20th season.

Previously, the only "Simpsons" on Blu-ray was "The Simpsons Movie," which was released in 2007. Now, "The Simpsons: Season 20" will hit Blu-ray on January 12th in a two-disc set which will feature all 21 episodes. A bonus feature, "The Twentieth Anniversary Special Sneak Peak by Morgan Spurlock," is also included.

During The Simpsons' 21 seasons, Sideshow Bob has been featured in an episode eleven times. In the majority of those episodes, Bob's sole purpose was to take his revenge on young Bart Simpson, the boy who had once thwarted the sidekick's plan to frame Krusty the Clown and take over his children's program.

The producers of The Simpsons are considering giving X Factor favourites John and Edward Grimes cameo roles in the show.

The makers of the animated comedy say they are "taking a look" at the brothers - aka Jedward - and reckon their daft hairstyles make them a natural choice to appear alongside the likes of extravagantly-coiffed Marge and be-quiffed Bart.
